Contemporary Ballet
This class is combining both classical and contemporary technique. It permits a greater range of movement that may not adhere to the strict bodylines of classical technique. It's a fusion of different qualities, ideas by joining different contemporary techniques to the ballet exercise, such as Lemon, release technique to allow the upper body moving more free than the square and strict line, and use the Graham technique to allow the low center of gravity and travel into space. At the same time, emphasize finding the connection between the breathing and movement. Class will start with the bare, sometime also floor exercise to strengthen the center core of the body and muscle, then into center, traveling steps and finish with breathing and cool down exercise.

Contemporary Dance
My physically demanding classes provide strong technique, playing with a range of floor-work, release elements and dynamic combinations through space. Every movement relates to a strong centre and circles around it to discover and expand what might seem self-evident. Therefore, we search for limits and go beyond them. Material and technical exercises are offered in various qualities, energies and shapes to challenge body and mind: Aiming to find economic ways in each kind of dynamic and using the principle of the pendulum and the off-balance as main sources of momentum in movement and as a main tool to explore real weight.

Contemporary Dance

The workshop ˇ§dancing UpSide&Downˇ¨ focuses on contemporary dance and on the physical aspects of moving and dancing multidimensionally. The classes will start with a Warm-Up and floor work exercise, to move later up in space and than combining everything to explore the possibilities of dancing in all levels thus going on the floor and off it again in fast ways. Elements of contemporary floor work, modern dance (Limon) and Capoeira are used. Especially techniques of going up side down (use your hand as your base) are being integrated. Thus instead of focusing purely on aesthetic aspects, the course is more about to understand to use complementing elements like speed & softness, breathing & naturalness or authenticity & dynamics to create natural aesthetics of movements.

Choreography Workshop

This laboratory will facilitate exploration in movement material (possibilities and imitations) inherent in each of the choreographic forms of duo, trio, quartet, quintet and mass groupings. We will explore, through simple movement patterns moving in space, mathematical divisions of bodies in movement, in space, and in time manipulations for each of the group forms. During this course, you will challenge your thinking and deepen your perceptions through audience/performer participation and evaluation of group studies performed in class, as well as stress clarity of communication through choreographic discipline. We will explore extensions of movement potential of the human body, while encouraging you to trust and employ the kinesthetic sense, creative intuitive intelligence as the working and creating process.

Contact Improvisation
Basic awareness of contact is established by relating the own center to the floor as an immobile partner, then by connecting it with another moving center. As a group in space as well as in exercises in couples we explore main rules of partnering: give and take weight, act and react on impulses, hold and let go. We aim to deepen confidence and trust to a partner and to take more and more risk by trusting own instincts.

Capoeira
This workshops invites all dancers who are interested in Capoeira and also in partner work. Capoeira is a Brazilian art form that mixes dance with combat, acrobatics, rhythm, and poetry with self-expression. It is celebrated as a ritual activity in a circular area called "roda". This workshop welcomes dancers of all types to try their first steps in Capoeira. In an open minded atmosphere, everyone will be invited to try out to interact and to communicate, mainly by our bodies and our physical possibilities. Intention of the workshop is to sharpen the understanding of our own motivations and therefore to improve the understanding of the action of others. The course will teach basics of Capoeira but will also include acrobratics, partner work and contact improvisation. We focus more to enjoy ourselves the most within our own possibilities than to perform.

The Franklin Method Workshop

The Franklin Method Workshop

This class will introduce students to the Franklin Method, a system of movement education which involves using imagery, touch, and movement to learn more about the body works, and to facilitate ease of movement and comfort in one's own body.  It is science-based, and is being used worldwide in dance environments such as The Royal Ballet, Laban Contemporary Dance, The Julliard School, Royal Danish Ballet, University of Colorado Dance Dept., and many others such as Cirque du Soleil. It is also applied to Pilats, Yoga, physical therapy and other somatic.
