The Chung Hwa School of Arts was established in 1988.
It is located by the Kaohsiung Museum of Arts, a |
perfect resources and environment for the study of arts. The four fields
of study offered by the school are |
Dance, Music, Fine Arts, and Drama. The yearly enrollment of the school
is around seven hundred, which |
ensures high quality of education and therefore enables teachers keep
good interactions with students. |
|
The Dance Division is designed to provide a variety of
dance training to students who are talented in dance and |
prepare them to pursue a further study in dance beyond high school program
and serve as a basis for job |
opportunities in professional career. |
|
The curriculum covers a wide range of dance disciplines,
including ballet, modern, Chinese dance, |
improvisation, repertory, music for dance, Palates, and dance appreciation.
The division also periodically invites |
professional dance companies to school for lecture demonstrations. In
addition, local and international guest |
artists are invited to teach and choreograph in summer and winter sessions.
|
|
There are two annual dance productions in which students
gain excellent performance experience and develop |
choreographic skills. The fall concert showcases students' choreographic
works. The spring concert is variously |
choreographed by the faculty and guest artists. |
|
The Division's facilities include three dance studios,
a clinical reformer training room, and a costume storage |
room. One of the studios can be converted to a black box experimental
theater. Musicians skilled in piano and |
percussion provide live accompaniment for most ballet and modern classes. |
|
The Dance faculty is currently composed of four full-time
and nine part-time members, each with strong |
professional and educational backgrounds. All faculty offers their dedication,
knowledge and love to make the |
environment the best one for students to grow and fulfill their dreams.
